Citizens for South Bay Coastal Access v. City of San Diego (2017)

Citizens for South Bay Coastal Access v. City of San Diego (2017)

Reason for Suing: Citizens for South Bay Coastal Access (CSBCA) sued the City of San Diego because it converted the last remaining affordable beach motel in the South Bay to transitional housing for misdemeanor offenders without obtaining approval from the California Coastal Commission, leaving the South Bay with no affordable visitor-serving accommodations.

Outcome: CSBCA won in the trial court.  The City has filed an appeal, which is still pending.

Documents: Superior Court Complaint; Superior Court Judgment.
